Taiwan Chlorine Industries Ltd. (TCI) was established in December 1986, and its manufacturing facility, located in Linhai Industrial Park, Kaohsiung, was constructed in March 1987 and put into production in May 1988. It is a joint venture company owned by Westlake Corporation (60%) and PPG Company (40%) of the United States.
The company's annual chlorine production capacity is approximately 120,000 tons. With TCI produces liquid chlorine, liquid caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, bleach, and hydrogen, the most advanced energy-saving, carbon-reducing, low-pollution and non-toxic membrane technology, TCI produces chemical products such as chlorine, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, bleach and hydrogen, and also develop high value-added chlorine derivatives to fully supply the basic raw materials needed by the domestic chemical and other industries.。

In 1957, Sesoda Corporation established under government's project plan on Taiwan manufacturing developments.
Build factory in Suao, where is rich in limestone, then began production with pure Soda Ash. Other than pure Soda Ash, followed domestic and international market needs, also began to produce product of Sodium Bicarbonate, Hydrochloric Acid, Ammonium bicarbonate powder and Potassium Sulfate.
For long term development, Sesoda's stock goes on Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) in 1986. Followed by Taiwan's changes in the market, Sesoda cut down the operation cost in order to make more profit. In exchange of some products being imported, not only customers can have stable and reliable support, but Sesoda can had sustainable businesses.

Formosa Plastics Corporation, established over sixty years ago in 1954, is currently capitalized at NT$63,657 million. Our main business area is intermediate raw materials for plastics.
